Rich and Mina asked me to come out to Sayulita, Mexico to photograph their wedding. I, of course accepted and made my way down. If you have never been to this little Mexican coastal village, drop everything you’re doing and book a flight. It’s that amazing. Being a bit of an expat hideout and a hidden tourist spot means most of the locals speak a fair amount of English but the town is authentic as it gets. We had Mezcal made by the local natives in the hills and served at a local bar out of a huge wooden drum, the best street tacos anywhere and enough beautiful sights my head was swimming. The wedding was a blast, they had a Hawaiian officiant as their pastor because of the Groom’s former life living in Hawaii and many Japanese traditional elements because of the Bride’s Japanese heritage. The ceremony was on the beach and we went to a small bar and grill in town for the reception. Couldn’t have asked for a more fun filled, beautiful trip.
